Designed for the measurement and screening of geometric parameters of barrel components - the new WEBER measuring and inspection system PROBIUS Ultimate
The system can be used as a tool for quality assurance and assessing the wear of twin-screw barrels and executes a non-contact scanning of radial sections, measuring different geometric parameters such as diameter and wear vertically/diagonally.
Functions and technology
of the measuring system
Due to different barrel sizes, the sensor is centred in the barrel by exchangeable rings. The movement along the component length is carried out manually via a multi-section rod. The measurement data is displayed in the software and can be saved as a data log. In this way, a change in wear (progression) can be created based on different operating hours. This serves as a reliable prognosis of wear behaviour and service life.
