The KSL series is WEBER's high-performance model for industrial use. In addition to all the advantages of the KSF series, the KSL is characterized by a reinforced design of the processing stations, non-contact workpiece detection and high-speed electronics. On the one hand, WEBER has designed the mechanics and drive of the machine for continuous operation: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Secondly, the KSL works very quickly when required - its feed rate is infinitely variable. It is suitable for veneer processing as well as for processing solid wood. Its units can be installed in any order. In this way, the machine can be optimally aligned to the respective requirements. As a special feature, it is able to incorporate haptic and visual effects into the surfaces.

WEBER processing stations

The bottom sanding stations are arranged vertically and are therefore easily accessible for changing the sanding belt. The belt lengths of the bottom sanding stations are identical to those of the top sanding stations. All sanding and brushing stations, including WEBER planetary head technology, are available.

 

Available in steel or rubberized versions, our rollers are designed for durability and resistance to meet the requirements of a wide range of sanding processes. Thanks to our advanced technology, our contact rollers enable extremely precise calibration in the 0.01 mm range. This ensures that even the most demanding sanding jobs can be carried out with the highest accuracy. Our rollers can be used to achieve various effect sanding finishes, giving your wood projects a special and individual touch.

 

WEBER is setting new standards in sanding quality with the planetary head. This patented unit guarantees a perfect surface irrespective of the
the direction of the wood grain or the shape of the workpiece. All edges are broken evenly in the throughfeed. 3D surfaces, radii and profiles can also be processed. During the subsequent lacquering process, the wood fibers hardly stand up at all. This leads to paint savings and better surface quality.

 

A polished surface free of oscillation marks is an outstanding quality feature. WEBER has found the solution for this with CBF technology. It works with a transverse pressure flap belt arranged within the wide belt station. The pressure flaps interrupt the engagement of the abrasive grains and thus avoid the undesirable oscillating sanding marks of the sanding belt. The result: The surface is smooth and even. The flap belt runs without control, maintains the full tolerance compensation of the link pressure beam, wears evenly and is inexpensive to replace.

Another advantage of CBF technology is that, in contrast to classic cross-sanding, one grit level can be skipped. This means that you can achieve particularly fine sanding results with our system without compromising on quality.

Uniform sanding pressure on the edge and surface is a prerequisite for good sanding results. WEBER's solution: Freely movable pressure pieces, which are firmly connected to the sanding lamella, always automatically position themselves flat against the sanding belt; the required even pressure distribution on longitudinal and transverse edges is achieved automatically. Interfering lateral forces on the adjusting cylinders are avoided. The arrangement of the pressure pieces on the sanding lamella eliminates the need for additional guides that are susceptible to contamination, and the system is completely maintenance-free. In addition, certain areas can be processed with different sanding pressures. This is a major advantage when sanding between coats of paint, for example, where paint material builds up more on the edges during certain application processes.

 

Textured brushes are used for texturing wooden surfaces. The brushes remove softer areas from the wood surface and a grooved surface is created. Metal wire brushes are used for coarse structures, while brushes with abrasive plastic bristles or sanding brushes are used for subsequent smoothing.

 

Flexibility is becoming increasingly important. This is why WEBER X-Sanding offers all sanding processes in one sanding station. The sanding station can be easily converted from wide belt to cross belt. It can therefore be alternately calibrated, sanded lengthwise, crosswise or with WEBER CBF technology. As today's requirements for different surfaces and lacquers demand different sequences of cross and longitudinal sanding, this new technology can easily respond to this. It enables longitudinal or transverse final sanding, thus saving an additional processing station.
