Space-optimized stacking

Space-optimized stacking of goods is becoming increasingly important in production facilities, where available space is often scarce and costly. Stacking of workpieces in grid boxes 

To ensure a smooth production process, workpieces are often forwarded directly to a downstream process, such as a bending system, after stacking. This can be done without manual intervention by stacking the workpieces directly into specially manufactured load carriers or into containers divided into grids. The control system takes over the entire path planning of the robot and takes possible interfering geometries into account so that no manual intervention is required and a continuous material flow is guaranteed.

 

Stacking of workpieces by type or layer

Stacking the workpieces by type or in layers makes optimum use of the available stacking space. This method enables workpieces to be stored efficiently and in a space-saving manner. Depending on the size of the workpieces and the conditions of the available stacking area, the ideal orientation of the workpieces is carefully determined. The complete placement pattern, i.e. the arrangement of the workpieces on the pallet, is then calculated in advance. This not only makes optimum use of the available space, but also ensures continuous monitoring and tracking of the pallet fill level. This ensures that the pallet is loaded evenly and unnecessary empty spaces are avoided.
